Production Blog
Hi bloggers!
I will now talk about what picking out the pictures and videos for this commercial was like.
I am a person who takes more videos than photos so it was easier for me to find that form of media.
With all these videos at hand, I had a lot to choose from so this made the process not too stressful.
Even though it wasn't stressful to find videos, it was a little pressing to select the "perfect" ones for the commercial.
I am a very picky person and this will cause me to go back many times when things are slightly off.
So when I thought I had the "right" video(s) for the project, tiny things would make me go back on my choice.
Minuscule things that caught my attention - in an unfavorable manner- like an unflattering pose or expression, would ruin the entirety of the video.
Having to deal with all this overanalyzing and overthinking towards my choices for the videos was a little bit challenging.
In the end, though it took a little more time than I anticipated, the videos I chose shed me in a positive manner that I am happy to display.
Looking back, I am very content with my video choices and am happy that I took the time to pick the videos that best expressed myself.
Although this commercial is quite short, I think it shows some parts of me - my energy and parts of my personality - accurately.
To find photos I went through my camera roll because that is where a majority of them are saved.
This process was kind of fun because it allowed me to reminisce about past, enjoyable times.
For photos, I wouldn't say finding them was hard, simply more time-consuming than it was for the videos.
This is because I was not only picky when choosing which photos would go into the final project, but I was also picky when picking between which handful I would analyze.
For me, photos are easier to be picky with and this makes me go through a lot and be left with little.
And though this pickiness was good with minimizing the length of the commercial, this also put me in times where there were barely any photos I liked.
And though I'm very particular when it comes to photos and all their aspects (angles, lighting, poses), I had to "loosen" up a little so the project wasn't too stuffy and short.
I didn't want the commercial to be inadequate in any part (music, videos, or photos) so I had to continue to go back to make sure I had AT LEAST the minimum necessary.
In the end, I really liked the photos I picked out.
This showed that being picky may be a little tedious, but the end product of this preciseness will be beautiful.
