Movie Conventions Research: Chucky

  •  What elements of the genre that you chose to base your final task on does this movie?
    • This movie is full of elements that are common in this genre. In this film there is a plethora of close-ups on the characters. There are also dutch camera shots on the main characters. We found that there are tracking shots and tilts. There are numerous props that the antagonists uses to harm his victims.
  • What elements of the genre did the movie have that you like?
    • In this movie my partner and I really liked the close-ups. The characters in this film are not all human, so we got a chance to see the detail in the dolls. We also liked the use of weapons from the doll. This gave the dolls the use of props and human like behavior.
  • What elements of the genre did the movie have that did not appeal to you?
    • In this movie my partner and I did not like the blood and harsh language. There were times we felt as though the speech was unnecessarily rude. In our film we will try to contain horror elements but without the vulgarity.

 Hi bloggers! I will now talk about what picking out the pictures and videos for this commercial was like. I am a person who takes more videos than photos so it was easier for me to find that form of media. With all these videos at hand, I had a lot to choose from so this made the process not too stressful.  Even though it wasn't stressful to find  videos, it was a little pressing to select the "perfect" ones for the commercial.  I am a very picky person and this will cause me to go back many times when things are slightly off. So when I thought I had the "right" video(s) for the project, tiny things would make me go back on my choice. Minuscule things that caught my attention - in an unfavorable manner- like an unflattering pose or expression, would ruin the entirety of the video.
