 Hi bloggers! I will now talk about what picking out the pictures and videos for this commercial was like. I am a person who takes more videos than photos so it was easier for me to find that form of media. With all these videos at hand, I had a lot to choose from so this made the process not too stressful.  Even though it wasn't stressful to find  videos, it was a little pressing to select the "perfect" ones for the commercial.  I am a very picky person and this will cause me to go back many times when things are slightly off. So when I thought I had the "right" video(s) for the project, tiny things would make me go back on my choice. Minuscule things that caught my attention - in an unfavorable manner- like an unflattering pose or expression, would ruin the entirety of the video. 1. How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues? - The song used in my video was “Infrunami” by Steve Lacy, it is in the genre of Rnb/soul & alternative. In these genres of music, there are often camera angles of close-ups in long and slow slower movements. This practice persisted throughout my video. One example of this is in the very first scene of the video, there is a wide shot establishing the scene, and the camera is rotating in a long and slow motion. This genre of music [videos] also regularly has costumes that have a “matching” vibe to the lyrics/meaning of the song. This was also present in my video. All of the actors’ outfits were inspired by the song itself and its “fall” and “calm” vibe. The reason all of these things were included was to make sure the video and song [lyrics] were connected and were able to tell a story. Hi bloggers! I am back with another blog, and this time it's to talk about who I'm going to work with for the Final task. When deciding on who to work with for this project, I reflected on past assignments. In the last media studies task (the music video) I worked in a group of 4. I had worked with my friends. And though I enjoyed spending time with them, I realized that working together for school wasn't the best route. In the end everything came out sufficient and adequate, but the process of getting everything together was quite stressful. On account of all of our conflicting schedules and strong opinions, there was sometimes mishaps. Of course, in all situations there are ups and downs, but I decided to go down a simpler route for this task. Although I didn't want to work in my past group for the final task, I also didn't want to work alone. Previewing the assignments attached to this final task, I have realized it will take a lot of time and effort to get done....
