Production Blog
Hi bloggers! The production process for my All About Me commercial was slightly time-consuming, but this is because I like things to go smoothly. When watching videos and edits, I dislike seeing rough and unpolished transitions and things of that sort. So I took my time when adding the specific clips together in an attempt to make my project the best it could be (with my novice skill level in consideration). I am not the best editor or compilation creator, so my project is not 100% perfect. Still, as I stated previously, I put my best efforts towards it.
To put this project together I first picked out all the clips of media I wanted to use in one folder so it would be easy to access them all at once. Then I went to inspect the clips I chose to make sure they all had the same vibe and would go with the songs I chose as well. If any of the videos or photos didn’t have the same ambience as the majority then I would go back to my camera roll and choose one that did. As I mentioned in my previous vlogs, I am at a stage in my life where I am striving for serenity and peacefulness. So since I’m harboring this mindset, that’s the type of vibe I wanted the overall commercial to give off.
I don’t make edits and collections of media all that often, so putting together such a presentation compelled me to try new things. I had to look at different editing software like CapCut, TikTok, and VideoStar to see which application would be the easiest for me to use. In the end, it seemed like using TikTok and Capcut would be the easiest way for me to move through this project. Also, when looking at these applications, I took the time to see which would give me the most pleasant end result. So this pushed me to really look deep into trying to navigate the different apps.
I don’t ever edit my body or face so this was not part of the editing process. But, when it comes to filters either for clearer skin, a silly look, or just a different look for the entire photo, they are applied. For the videos, I chose ones that were not too long in length and there wasn’t too much happening in the frame. This is because I did not want the presentation to go on for too long. If I really wanted to keep specific parts of the video, I would just cut some parts off and keep the ones I valued.
